Ansley Pye
Ansley Pye has spent the past twenty years traveling but has now returned to her native home of San Diego. In her works in oils on canvas, Ansley explores the sometimes mundane world of nature, seeing the ordinary as extraordinary. Her inspiration comes from the details of nature, its imperfections, and the process of change. Ansley chooses her subjects based on the beauty in the imperfect, and finds the unique and original in the torn or blemished. Seeking to glorify, what is often regarded, as without meaning, into an up-close and then symbolic image that tells the story of a moment of life. Her studio’s name Daemon is derived from the Greek word meaning to breathe the spirit of life into an inanimate object. Thus her studio’s name describes what Ansley attempts to accomplish in her work.
